The University of Mobile Performing Arts Series presented two performances of the musical masterpiece “Les Miserables” on March 21 and 22. Patrick Jacobs was delighted to play the part of the tragically misguided Inspector Javert whose pursuit of justice leads him to wrongly convict Jean Valjean.

Keone Fuqua, directed the UMobile production, and said Les Miserables deals with themes of redemption, opposing views of what is right and righteousness, and the freedom of the human spirit. The orchestra was under the direction of Dr. Scott Wright, UMobile conductor in residence. Producer was Bruce Earnest, associate professor of musical theatre and assistant dean of the Center for Performing Arts/School of Music and School of Worship Leadership.
